The $15 TV.

I jokingly told my sister that I needed a little TV for my craft room, so I could watch football (did anyone see the FCS Championship on Monday night?!) and Weather Nation, but I didn't really think I'd ever go through with it... until I popped up to Fargo yesterday for a thrifting trip. At Savers, they have used TVs; I don't know if I knew this before. I scoped them out, making sure the one I considered had a remote, plug-in cord, and HDMI input (for one of my old Roku or Firesticks), and I settled on a Polaroid TV (about 20" wide with a built-in DVD player!) for $15. Well, I left it on the shelf and wandered the store before deciding to snatch it up as I left.

It works well with my older Roku, and I only had to sign into my Roku to get all my apps to appear. It might be the best $15 I've ever spent?! They had one of those soundboards there, too, for $15, and an older iMac for $30. Huh.

Later, at the Dakota Boys Ranch (the one on 52nd Ave S), I spotted a really cute desk lamp. I think it was a pretty blue color, and it was under $5 I think... I had purchased one via Walmart curbside pickup for my craft room for double that. Granted, it's pink and LED-based, but I should have gone secondhand for that item.

I guess what this post is getting at is this: Try to find your wants and needs via secondhand shops first because it'll save you money, prevent your own hoarding, and maybe help keep some stuff from landfills?
