What if textbooks just got to the damn point? And what if they had a dose of Carlin in them, with some good old-fashioned swearing? What's so wrong about that? They are WORDS for Pete's sake (poor Pete). AND, to add another Carlin fav, what about stories? What ever happened to stories & not boring ones? When you're a kid, didn't we get to hear really great SHORT stories? What happened to them?
Stories, swearing, and shortness. Three goals that all start with "S." I'm getting somewhere now!

Ungrading Nugget #1.  #Ungrading, for me, is a theory. The practice looks very different for each teacher, whether they are teaching k-12 or at a university. {The practice is a privilege for some, as I acknowledge that as a full-timer, I'm allotted more freedom than a part-time teacher.} The practice looks very different depending on discipline, too.
